Production of Silver Fiber
The YLshielding™ silver fiber production line adopts multi-rake magnetron vacuum sputtering composite coating and oxidation-resistant processing technology to organically combine pure silver and high-strength fibers to form a solid pure silver crystal layer and oxidation-resistant film structure on the surface of the fiber, with the super conductive, anti-radiation, antimicrobial and other characteristics. Silver fiber products are light in weight and maintain the feel of textiles.
Appearance and Characteristics of Silver Fiber
Appearance of Silver Fiber
Silver fiber has a beautiful appearance of silver gray, but sometimes in order to cater to the customers’ needs and make it more beautiful, the silver fiber yarn is also yellowed, and the true color of silver gray is changed into golden yellow. The test results show that the silver-gray silver fiber has better antibacterial performance and deodorant effect.
Silver fiber yarn is best blended or interwoven with colored yarn (yarn-dyed), so that the woven silver fiber fabric is beautiful and fashionable. If the silver fiber yarn is blended or interwoven with other yarns and then dyed, it is generally necessary to conduct a silver fiber dyeing experiment in advance and ask the customer to confirm the final color. The dyed silver fiber will generally appear dark black, silver gray, silver white and golden yellow. The fabrics of these colors have good antimicrobial and deodorant, electromagnetic field (EMF) shielding and intelligent conductive functions. Among them, the dark black fabric has the best anti bacterial and deodorant properties; Silver gray and silver white fabrics have the best electromagnetic radiation (EMR) shielding and intelligent conductive effects.
Antibacterial and Deodorant Performances of Silver Fiber
The excellent antibacterial function of silver fiber can eliminate more than 650 kinds of pathogens, inhibit the growth of bacteria, and eliminate odor.
The antibacterial properties of silver are derived from silver ions. Because silver ions can form strong bonds with the substances used by microorganisms for respiration (such as molecules containing oxygen, sulfur, and nitrogen), these substances cannot be used by microorganisms, making the microorganisms suffocate and die.
YLshielding™ silver fiber has been verified by test that its antibacterial rate against staphylococcus aureus, candida albicans and escherichia coli is more than 99.9% after washing 50 times.
Performance advantages:
• Broad-spectrum antibacterial
• Quick sterilization - reduce bacteria within one hour
• Long lasting – Silver ions can be sterilized repeatedly, giving textiles permanent antibacterial properties.
• Safety - It is not chemical treatment, nor nanotechnology, there is no drug resistance problem of bacteria, and it is non-toxic.
Antistatic Function of Silver Fiber
Silver is highly conductive and can conduct electricity very quickly. As long as a small amount of silver fiber is in the fabric, the static electricity can be quickly eliminated.
Electromagnetic Radiation Protection of Silver Fiber
The conductivity of silver determines that it is an ideal electromagnetic radiation protection material. When the surrounding electromagnetic field touches the silver fiber fabric, the silver fiber fabric can refract or reflect the electromagnetic wave, or convert it into heat to be evacuated. Therefore, the silver fiber fabric is the protective god to protect the human body from electromagnetic radiation.
YLshielding™ silver fiber can shield more than 99.999% of electromagnetic radiation.

Silver is an excellent conductive material, and its conductivity is as dozens or even hundreds of times as general metals. The silver fiber wire has strong conductivity, low resistivity and low circuit loss. YLshielding™ silver fiber has high electrical conductivity and flexibility, and can be integrated into personal electronic products. It is easy to integrate it into products and clothing as a completely hidden antenna system. Traditional materials will not work. Silver fibers are lightweight, easy to wash, durable, flexible, stretchable and unobtrusive. They are ideal for smart clothing, power cords, data circuits and other high-tech applications.
When silver fiber electrodes are combined with medical treatments to make wearable devices, such as bracelets, arm rings, ankle rings, headgear, hats, vests, underwear, underpants, etc., it can do long-term monitoring of human body EMG, EEG signals, ECG, heart rate, etc.
Body Heat Regulation of Silver Fiber
Silver fiber fabric has good thermal conductivity. In summer, it can quickly conduct moisture on the skin to lower body temperature; in winter, it can reflect heat to the human body to regulate body temperature to produce the best warmth.
The outdoor work clothes made of silver fiber have the functions of antibacterial, deodorization, anti-radiation, antistatic, anti-pollution, etc., and can extend the wearing period in the harsh outdoor environment of water shortage and unconditional washing to protect human health. It is understood that the US military has used silver fiber and CoolMax blended fabrics for military uniforms.

Comparison of Properties Of Different Spinning Systems. The following chart illustrates the differences in ring, open end, MJS air jet, and MVS vortex spun yarns. The upper part of the chart lists advantages of each type of yarn and the lower part of the chart lists disadvantages of each type. Ring spun and open end yarns dominate in apparel fabrics today with air jet and vortex yarns playing a much smaller role. Lighter weight fabrics, referred to at times as top weight fabrics, will typically contain ring spun yarn since open end yarn has a lower spinning limit (coarser counts formed). Air jet yarn is used in a lot of sheeting fabrics and shirting. Open end yarn is used in underwear, socks, denim, sweaters, and other outerwear garments. Sometimes it is desirable to have a more uneven look in fabrics (homespun look) and for that reason ring spun yarn is chosen. With respect to the count ranges that can be spun on the different systems, ring spun has the widest range of sizes. Ring spun frames can make yarns from a 1/1 Ne up to well over 100/1 Ne with long staple fibers. Open end systems can spin yarns economically from 1/1 to 40/1 Ne. The finer counts require combing in order to spin without defect and weakness. Air jet spinning can produce yarns from 20/1 Ne to 80/1 Ne.
Aside from knitwear, this is the part of my work I enjoy the most. What you’re looking at is a front panel inside view of a test piece, zipped-front pro-cycling jersey. It’s not quite reached its final, polished, refined state yet as we try to figure out the press-stud and zipper integration sequence (hence the excess stitching etc), but the fact that we’ve actually pulled this off is really significant. Tidying up is the easy part. The black pathways represent a world first… Every other wearable tech company uses a single-lead ECG - that’s 2 electrodes. This picture shows the first, successful integration of a 3-lead ECG into performance clothing or training gear. This new Einthoven’s Triangle electrode configuration surpasses anything else on the market, including household-name chest straps, smart-watches or rings. (You can’t build a 3D image with only 2 electrodes/axes) This 3-lead configuration offers a more complete and accurate picture of spatial heart activity and is far superior for continuous monitoring. We can now go way beyond simple AF or bradycardia detection, to more complex monitoring of arrhythmias or ischemic changes. Our integration work is now so robust that we’ve surpassed 150+ wash cycles without any drop in performance, or delamination of any part of the assembly. …Be sure to check this out, alongside its counterpart sports bra, as it takes centre stage at ISPO in a couple of weeks time. The bra works beautifully as the bonded polymer doubles up as an additional support mechanism in the cups. It’ll be accompanied by an entire matching range of advanced performance/activewear garments showcasing our manufacturing capabilities. (Unfortunately, I won’t be there, but it’ll be hard to miss the neon-purple kits on-stand and on-stage throughout the event.)
