Components of FOIDS
Our control host and fiber optic cables (sensors) provide an efficient and scalable intrusion detection system that can monitor large areas with high sensitivity and minimal maintenance.
With competitive price and timely delivery, Raycom sincerely hope to be your supplier and partner.
Control Host
The Control Host processes data from the fiber optic sensor, analyzes signals for disturbances, and triggers alarms when an intrusion is detected. It includes a monitoring and control interface, enabling integration with other security systems.
Fiber Optic Cable( Sensor)
The Fiber Optic Cable (Sensor) acts as the detection medium, transmits optical signals and detects interference caused by intrusion along its length. It provides wide coverage, is resistant to harsh environmental factors, and provides distributed sensing with minimal installation complexity.
Types of Fiber Cable
In a fiber optic system, single-mode fiber and multi-mode fiber differ primarily in their design and performance characteristics.
Technologies of Fiber Optic Sensing
All three types of sensors have their advantages and can be selected based on the specific security needs, monitoring range, and sensitivity level required for your application. Distributed Acoustic Sensing Fiber Bragg Grating Sensor Interferometric Fiber Optic SensorInstallation Options

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a fiber optic intrusion detection system work?Answer: A fiber optic intrusion detection system detects disturbances or vibrations along a fiber optic cable. These disturbances are caused by intrusions, such as fence climbing, digging, or cutting, which generate vibration signals. The system analyzes these signals to identify and alert on possible intrusions.
What are the advantages of using a fiber optic intrusion detection system over traditional security methods?Answer: Fiber optic systems offer high sensitivity, low false alarm rates, and real-time monitoring. They are immune to electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable performance in harsh environments. Additionally, they can cover large areas like perimeters, fences, and sensitive facilities with fewer maintenance requirements.
How accurate is alarm detection?Answer: The embedded structure and advanced signal processing technology of our fiber optic alarm systems ensure high accuracy. By using high-frequency and low-frequency analysis, the system can distinguish between intrusion signals and environmental interference, providing accurate alarm notification without unnecessary false alarms.

What is the response time of the system?Answer: Our system has a microsecond-level signal processing response time, allowing it to detect intrusions and send alerts almost instantaneously, ensuring prompt action can be taken to mitigate potential threats.
What kind of maintenance is required for the system?Answer: The system requires minimal maintenance. Routine checks on the fiber optic cables and signal processing units are recommended, but due to its durable design and resistance to environmental factors, the system is generally low-maintenance.

RF970_V2 Positioning Type Fiber Intrusion Detection System (PFIDS)
Fiber Intrusion Detection System
The fiber intrusion detection system positioning-type fiber optic intrusion detection system designed for long-distance perimeters has real-time monitoring and precise positioning functions, which can quickly detect and locate threatening behaviors and intervene in time to prevent illegal behaviors from happening.
Fiber Optic Sensing Detection Principle
Perimeter intrusion detection systems are systems used in the external environment to detect if an intruder is trying to breach the perimeter. With one of the most innovative fiber optic monitoring capabilities on the market, Raycom provides 100% perimeter coverage for long-distance applications with no gaps between sensors. The fiber optic cable is the sensor.
Fiber intrusion detection system is a powerful vibroacoustic sensor that uses a typical single-mode fiber optic cable. Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology and Distributed Vibration Sensing (DVS) technology are used to monitor different applications of fiber optics. Fiber optic cable is highly sensitive to pressure, acoustics, and motion, which allows it to detect vibrations transmitted through fences, soil, or surfaces. The fiber intrusion detection system monitors vibration signatures over the length of the fiber optic cable, locates intrusion events, and classifies specific signatures based on detection algorithms.
Deploying the Raycom fiber optic intrusion detection system using a single fiber optic cable is an excellent choice for reliable perimeter security over a range of 5 to 100 km/3 to 62 miles. The system can detect and locate any intrusion within 3-20 meters/10-60 feet of the entire perimeter. In addition, the system can provide unlimited coverage by connecting to other network controllers.
